Protein A Excellose |

| Description |
|
Protein A Excellose® is protein A immobilized by the CNBr method to CNBr activated Excellose. Protein A binds to the Fc region of IgG through interaction with the heavy chain. The binding of protein A has been well documented for IgG from a variety of mammalian species and for some IgM and IgA as well. Protein A Excellose may be used to isolate and purify classes, subclasses and fragments of immunoglobulins from any biological fluid or cell culture medium. Since only the Fc region is involved in binding, the Fab region is still available for binding antigen. The potential applications of protein A include practically all of the current and projected applications of protein G. Protein A and Protein G, however, have different IgG binding species, dependent on the origin of the IgG. |
