PureHelix™ Total RNA Purification Kit [Virus, Animals, Plants, Bacteria], Column type is designed for rapid, pure, and high yield isolation of total RNA from small amounts of various samples including blood, animal and plant tissues, bacteria and virus. This kit is suitable to the rapid preparation of nucleic acids for molecular diagnostics using conventional and real-time RT-PCR technologies. Due to elimination of phenol, handling of the kit is safe and no harmful waste is produced. The purified total RNA can be used in a number of downstream applications.

Total RNAs were isolated from 30 mg of rat liver tissue or 20 mg of tobacco leaf according to the manual. The extractions were duplicated, and 1 μl aliquot from each 50 μl eluted solution was analyzed on 1% agarose gel electrophoresis.

10-fold serial dilutions of total RNA purified from HAV-positive serum were analyzed using RealHelix™ qRT-PCR Kit.

Total RNA was isolated from a nasopharyngeal specimen of a new influenza virus-infected patient. Each RT-PCR reaction was performed with one of these target-specific primer sets: influenza A (InfA, 106 bp), Swine influenza A (SW InfA, 195 bp), Swine Influenza H1 (SW H1,116 bp), or RNase P (human internal control, 65 bp).
