HelixZyme™ Uracil-DNA Glycosylase (UDG) is an engineered E. coli enzyme catalyzing the hydrolysis of the N-glycosidic bond between the uracil and sugar, leaving an apyrimidinic site in uracil-containing single or double-stranded DNA. For PCR diagnosis, UDG can be used for efficient removal of carryover contaminated uracil-containing DNA.

Enzyme activities: Hydrolyzes uracil-glycosidic bonds in single- and double-stranded DNA

Heat inactivation: +95 ℃ for 5 minutes is sufficient for inactivation

Storage buffer: 20 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0), 50 mM NaCl, 1 mM EDTA, 1 mM DTT, 0.1 mg/ml BSA and 50 % (v/v) glycerol

Purity: ≥ 90 % (SDS-PAGE)

DNase contamination test: Not detectable (Incubation with 10 U enzyme and pUC19 plasmid at 37 ℃, 1 hr)

Activity test: Removal of uracil-containing PCR product with 1 unit of enzyme

Stability: 24 months at -20 ℃
