HelixZyme™ Uracil-DNA Glycosylase (UDG), is an engineered E. coli enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of the N-glycosidic bond between the uracil and sugar, leaving an apyrimidinic site in uracil-containing single or double-stranded DNA. Inactivated by heating at 95 ℃ for 10 min, UDG can be used to efficiently remove carryover contaminated uracil-containing DNA during a PCR or real-time PCR.
